Mr. Sarni founded NEW Holdings, LLC in 2006, and also became a partner and co-owner of Howard Commercial Corp., companies focused on providing complete commercial real estate brokerage, investment and development services.  Prior to this time, he joined Cornerstone Investment, LLC as a Principal and Director in 2003, bringing a wealth of broad industry, transaction, and capital raising management experience from over 20 years in the investment banking and financial services industries.  Cornerstone, founded in 1994, is actively engaged in the investment, development and property management of both residential and commercial real estate. 

Prior to his real estate endeavors, Mr. Sarni was Managing Director - Investment Banking for A.G. Edwards and Sons, Inc. in St. Louis, and from 1997 until 2003 had responsibilities for establishing and managing the Healthcare Industry Group within the corporate finance department's Emerging Growth Sector.  Before his healthcare industry group focus, directed primarily at emerging growth medical technology, biotechnology, specialty pharmaceutical and healthcare services companies, Mr. Sarni was a generalist in investment banking with responsibilities for client servicing, business development and transaction execution in a broad range of industries including consumer, industrial, transportation, financial services, technology, and venture capital / private equity. 

Mr. Sarni began his career in investment banking in 1986 as a corporate finance Associate at A.G. Edwards.  During his 17-year tenure as an investment banker, he advised numerous Boards of Directors and senior management teams on a variety of capital raising and financial advisory assignments raising more than $6 billion for client companies, including the public and private issuance of senior, subordinated and convertible debt, preferred equity and common stock.  He has extensive corporate finance experience arranging capital for growth, acquisition financing, refinancing, and recapitalizations, principally for middle market companies.  In addition, he has served as financial advisor on more than $4 billion in transaction value on a variety of merger and acquisition assignments, including exclusive sales, buy-sides, takeover defense, financial restructuring, and fairness opinions.  Throughout his career, Mr. Sarni was involved in a number of firm wide and division responsibilities including membership on the management committee, transaction review committee, and product review committee, in addition to heading the corporate finance recruiting committee for professional staff.
 
Before joining A.G. Edwards, he spent three years as a CPA working in the Accounting and Auditing Services Group of PriceWaterhouse.

Mr. Sarni currently serves as a member of the Board of Managers for Ascension Health Ventures, the strategic health venture-investing subsidiary of Ascension Health, the nation's largest Catholic and not-for-profit healthcare system.  In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Harbor BioSciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: HRBR), an emerging biotechnology company working to become a leader in the development of a new class of investigational drugs known as Immune Regulating Hormones, Howard Commercial Corp., and NEW Holdings, LLC.  Mr. Sarni also previously served as a director of Young Innovations, Inc. (NASDAQ: YDNT), a leading manufacturer and marketer of medical products used primarily in the dental industry, Microtek Medical Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: MTMD), a leading manufacturer and supplier of innovative infection control, fluid control, and safety products and solutions for the healthcare industry, and Cornerstone Investment, LLC.

Mr. Sarni received his MBA with a specialization in finance from the University of Chicago.  He earned his BSBA degree in from the University of Missouri at Columbia where he majored in accounting, and during that same year successfully passed the national CPA exam.
